Directors Project: Oy by Rich Orloff

For our October Directors Project we will be putting on 2 performances of OY by Rich Orloff.  The piece contains
sixteen short 10 minute plays.  We will pick 16 different directors to direct each of those 16 short plays.  Directors
can be individuals who have directed in the past or individuals with a strong desire to direct their 1st piece.

Guidelines
1.  Each director accepted will be assigned 1 piece to direct.

2.  Each director will cast the play they are assigned.

3.  Directors are not able to cast themselves nor are they allowed to be in the cast of another director's play.

4.  Directors and actors are not paid and actors must be non-equity.

5.  Rehearsals are on your own time and at your own expense.  You may rehearse at your apartment, practice room
at school, ect..  Being that the plays are 10 minutes in length you should plan a total of 2 hours of rehearsal every 2
weeks till performance.

6.  Scene may include small hand held props only and the you will have 6 black wooden solid cubes on stage to
rearrange for seating or to represent different aspects of your set.  These cubes are approximately 20 inches by 20
inches by 20 inches.  The show runs straight through with no intermission.  Lighting cues must be simple such as
lights up, lights down, lights at half, ect.  The lighting system is not advanced so anything beyond that will not
work.  Also each director will choose a 20 second intro clip of sound or music for their scene as well as a 20 second
outro clip to act as bumpers to the scene.   Songs clips are due by June 1st via e-mail as an attachment or send me
the youtube link and the time code choices and I can download myself.

7.  Director will be in direct communication with producer, Adam Roebuck, supplying him with  their cast's names,
cell phone #'s, and e-mail addresses.  Final cast lists for the program are due September 25th.

8.  All directors and actors will be required to be at a walk throughs on Saturday, October 1st between 11AM and
7PM.  Each scene will be signed a 45 minute slot in chronological order of the show to be determined once scenes
are assigned.  During this walk you will present the scene will all actors present as well as discuss the set up and
striking of the blocks being used with the director of the scene prior to yours as well as the director of the scene
that follows yours.

9.  All directors and actors must be at dress rehearsal in the theater on Friday, October 28th.  Act 1 will rehearse
from 11AM till 2:30PM and Act 2 from 3PM till PM.  

10.  All directors and actors must be available for the 2 performances on Saturday, October 29th @ 4:15PM and
Sunday, October 30th  at 3:15PM at the Times Square Arts Center in the Roy Arias Theater Center's 4th Floor Off
Broadway Theater.  Actors and directors do not require tickets but all guests will require a ticket.  There are no
comp tickets available, except actor agents and managers listed in Ross Reports.
